Square Pegs MSL Scholarships
In 2017, the Square Pegs Board committed to raising up to $50,000 to support Tasmanian educators, parents and other relevant professionals to further their knowledge in supporting dyslexic learners, through completion of appropriate multisensory language education training.
Applications for a first round of scholarships closed in December 2017. The number of high quality applications exceeded our expectations. We were thrilled to have been able to offer $16,500 to fund places for seven exceptional candidates from across the State to complete the IMSLE course in February 2018.
Applications are open to: teachers, teacher aides, tutors, speech pathologists, parents or other relevant professionals involved in providing support for children with dyslexia or related learning differences. Please read the terms and conditions before applying.

Scholarships of up to $1,250 per applicant can be used to assist with the cost of completing an approved (see list below) Multi-sensory Language Education course.
To apply, you must:

be an Australian citizen based in Tasmanian;

be a current member of Square Pegs;
-
complete the application form;
-
be able to show that you have the support of the leadership at your school or organisation (if applicable);

be willing to share knowledge within your school/organisation/community;

write 250 words detailing why you should be the recipient of the scholarship;

write 250 words about how you would help effect change for a child (children) in your school or community;

provide the contact details of two referees; and
-
supply details of previous training/experience in education (or other relevant qualifications).
By submitting an application you are accepting the terms and conditions of the Square Pegs Scholarship Program.
Terms and Conditions
1. The Square Pegs MSL Scholarship is for a maximum of $1,250 and applies to course fees only.
2. On acceptance into an approved MSL course, Square Pegs will pay the scholarship directly to the provider.
3. Scholarship recipients (or their employer) will be responsible for meeting the balance of the course fees.
4. Scholarship recipients (or their employer) are responsible for all other associated expenses ie. travel and accommodation).
5. Scholarship recipients will be required to sign a funding deed of agreement.
